IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MEMBER EXHIBITORS:

  • Entry form deadline (online) Entries close 5pm, on Friday 16 February 2024
  • Full financial CAS members may enter up to a total of FIVE artworks.
  • ENTRY FEES: SMALL artworks @ $15 each | LARGE artworks @ $30 each (maximum of 1 LARGE permitted per artist.)
  • Artwork delivery: IMPORTANT - NO Artworks to be delivered to the Exhibition Building.
  • All artworks to be delivered to either: Richmond or Nunawading
  • You will be given delivery address upon receipt of your entry form & payment
  • Richmond delivery has 2 dates:
    • Thursday 14th March: between 4pm and 6pm.
    • Sunday 17th March: between 2pm and 4pm.
  • Nunawading delivery date:
    • Sunday 17th March: Between 2pm and 4pm.
  • Collection: For both the Richmond and Nunawading collection, the date is:
  • Monday 25th March: Between 4pm and 6pm.
  • Important: NO artworks to be collected to the exhibition building.

  CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 


  1. Only financial members of the C.A.S. Inc. are eligible to enter works in this exhibition. Entrants must be Full membership, and be financial for the 2023 - 2024 financial year. Years of membership are as per CAS records.

  2. The exhibition will be on show to the public at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show., at the Royal Exhibition Buildings, Carlton. CAS is exhibiting at our stand representing CAS members. NO artworks to be delivered to the exhibition building by entrants. ONLY authorised CAS personnel will be admitted.

  3. EXHIBITION HOURS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: The exhibition is open to the public: Wed 20 March: 9am - 5pm. Thurs 21: 9am - 5pm. Fri 22: 9am - 9.30pm. Sat 23 March: 9am - 5pm. Sun 24 March: 9am - 5pm. An entry fee to the MIF&GS applies, but CAS exhibitors that are rostered on will receive a free access pass for the sitting of their rostered day.

  4. SITTING: To participate in this exhibition, ALL entrants are REQUIRED to assist with sitting ONE SLOT - either a half day of the exhibition AM or PM slot, or assisting with hanging / install /de-install of the exhibition, or some other tasks during exhibition. If you choose to NOT assist, a $60 non-assist fee applies. This applies to ALL exhibitors, or assist with other duties in lieu (at co-ordinator's discretion). Preferences will be taken into account, but may not be available. If artist is unable to sit, a fee of $60 applies.

  5. ARTWORK ENTRIES: Each artist may enter up to a total of FIVE works. There are 2 sizes of entries: “Small” and “Large” You may enter a total of ONE “Large” that would count as part of your five entries. Ie: 1 x large + 4 x small = 5 total. Or: 5 x small = 5 total.

  6. SMALL ARTWORK: How to measure your SMALL artwork. Measure the Height (one side, including frame) & Width (the other side including frame) and add that together, and that must be a TOTAL of under 100cm. For example: 60cm x 40cm = 100cm, or 50cm x 50cm = 100cm. SMALL artworks are $15 each to enter the exhibition.

  7. LARGE ARTWORK: How to measure your Large artwork. Measure the Height (one side, including frame) & Width (the other side including frame) and add that together, and that must be a TOTAL of under 200cm. For example: 100cm x 100cm = 200cm, or 120cm x 80cm = 200cm. LARGE artworks are $30 each to enter the exhibition. Maximum of TWO large permitted per artist.

  8. All artworks must remain on show for the exhibition duration (except for sold artworks)

  9. Works entered in a previous C.A.S. Inc. Exhibition will be accepted.

  10. Work may be in any stable medium, on any subject, and must be the original work of the artist entering it. We have suggested a loose theme of “Nature” for inspiration. If work/s are produced as multiples (prints etc), the edition number and remaining works in that edition available must be recorded on the work and entry form.

  11. For this exhibition, ONLY 2D artworks will be accepted, and must be suitably framed (a stretched canvas is considered framed) & presented ready for hanging with wire and D-Rings or similar attached securely to back. String, cord or fishing line cannot be accepted.

  12. WRAPPING: Each artwork is required to be “bubble wrapped” INDIVIDUALLY this is a requirement of the exhibiting body. Please only use a small amount of tape to enclose, as we have to unwrap each one to exhibit, and re-wrap if unsold. Please put a small sticker / label on the OUTSIDE of each wrapped artwork, with your NAME and the TITLE of the artwork, so we can check it off our manifesto. We would also request if you could fit each wrapped artwork in a plastic carry bag, one work per bag, (something like a Coles or other shopping bag) as this will assist in transport and protection of artworks. Do not give us blankets or similar, as they will not be accepted.

  13. LABELS FOR DISPLAY ON THE WALL: The show organisers produce professional display labels in advance, for each artwork. So NO changes can be made to your price, title, after the entry deadline of 5pm, Friday 16th February.

  14. EACH artwork must be clearly marked on back with the artist's name, title of work, dimensions, price and medium. (e.g: Mary Jones, “Still Life” 60cm x 60cm, $300, mixed media) Please do NOT include CV's Business cards, promo info, as they are NOT permitted by the show organisers.

  15. Works MUST be for sale. A 27.5% commission will be charged by Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show on the catalogue price of all sales resulting from the exhibition. This is made up of 25% commission + GST 10% = a total commission of 27.5%. Cheques for all sold works during exhibition will be posted to entrant within 1 month of end of show. Any cheques for sales or refunded entry fees not cashed within 12 months of issue will be cancelled and no correspondence entered into. CAS Inc charges NO commission for this exhibition. (as commission is charged by the show organisers)

  16. C.A.S. Inc. does not collect G.S.T. All prices must be total selling price. Any G.S.T. liability between the artist and the A.T.O. remains the responsibility of the artist.

  17. The C.A.S. Inc. exhibition committee reserves the right to select works for exhibition and to decline to exhibit any work. Our policy is “unselected” members/work/s will be fully refunded the entry fee: exception: unsafe or wet works will be rejected & entry fees will not be refunded. Any rejected works will be held for collection on collection day. The exhibition committee’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  18. Entries close 5pm, on Friday 16 February 2024. Completed online entry forms must be accompanied by correct payment, and returned by online form. Late entries will not be accepted and will be returned to sender.

  19. DELIVERY: We have 2 delivery & collection addresses for this exhibition: One in Richmond and one in Nunawading. These are both private homes. You must NOMINATE which of the addresses you will deliver / collect your artwork from on the entry form. The one you chose to deliver to, will be the one you will collect from, to avoid any confusion. We will email you the address on acceptance of your entry. The Richmond delivery has 2 dates: Thursday 14th March: between 4pm and 6pm, OR Sunday 17th March: between 2pm and 4pm. The Nunawading delivery date is: Sunday 17th March: Between 2pm and 4pm. NO artworks to be delivered to the Exhibition Buildings. NOTE: Works not delivered within the times allocated will not be exhibited.

  20. COLLECTION: We have 2 delivery & collection addresses for this exhibition: One in Richmond and one in Nunawading. These are both private homes. You will collect from the one you delivered to, as to avoid any confusion. The Richmond and Nunawading collection date is: Monday 25th March: Between 4pm and 6pm. NO artworks to be collected from the Exhibition Buildings.

  21. If persons delivering or collecting works are to be other than those named on entry form, the Society must be notified in writing at least 24 hours prior to delivery / collection.

  22. Any works not collected by artist/agent at the appointed time will incur a fee of $20 per day per work. The artist/agent must contact the Secretary to arrange collection. Works not released until payment made. Works remaining uncollected or fees unpaid after 7 days from close of exhibition shall immediately become the property of C.A.S. Inc., and may be sold, destroyed or otherwise disposed of in such a manner as deemed fit, and thereafter the C.A.S. Inc. shall be under no liability whatever to the artist in respect of any work so destroyed or disposed of.

  23. The C.A.S. Inc. will exercise reasonable care with work submitted, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever. Artists must arrange own insurance cover.

  24. The C.A.S. Inc. reserves the right to photograph submitted artwork, and/or use image/s as supplied by artist for the society’s records, promoting this and future exhibitions & for catalogue & archival purposes (printed, electronic & web-based).
