1. What part of the process of creating art do you like best?
My signature artworks are my abstracts. I derive my inspiration from my surroundings, my mood and imagination. Each artwork is unique and has its own appeal. Through the use of colour, shapes and textures my abstract artworks evolve to portray a unique story and experience for each observer. I love to experiment with my artwork, using different mediums, surfaces and techniques. I also enjoy traditional art using oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels, pencils, scratchboard etc., and affiliate with my subject particularly when painting fauna and flora. I love being creative!
2. What is your working environment like?
My home studio is my creative retreat! It is a reflection of me! My art studio is my space for reference, contemplation, experimentation and creativity. However, I have been known to take over parts of the house and garden to further extend my creativity and artworks.
3. What kind of (formal & informal) art training have you had?
I have been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. I have had some private art tuition and attended a few art workshops using oils, acrylics, ceramics, mozaics and scratchboard. I continue to investigate and experiment with new techniques and mediums and I am a member of a few Art Societies in which we exchange ideas and attend workshops and demonstrations. I further my learning and art passion through online tutorials, magazines, books, dvd's and YouTube. In May 2018 after my exhibition at 'Arts On Burgundy', Heidelberg, I was offered a position to teach Art.
